AXA PPP – working hard to provide wellbeing solutions
The most common cause of prolonged absence in the UK’s workforce is the musculoskeletal issue. Back, neck and muscle problems see more workers forced to take time off than any other condition.
As with all health-related absences, the hardest hit when illness arises are smaller enterprises. For SMEs with relatively small numbers of hard-working staff, the impact of a worker taking time off is felt all the more keenly.
AXA PPP healthcare has launched a new service to help those SMEs facing musculoskeletal problems within their teams. Working Body is a telephone service aimed at putting small and medium sized businesses in contact with a physiotherapist without the need to see a GP first. The service can even make appointments where necessary.
Working Body will be available from 1 October and forms part of AXA PPP’s Business Health Select plan when clients select the ‘therapies’ module. Accompanying the service is an interactive page on AXA PPP’s website. By clicking anywhere on the anatomy model shown on the page, you can read up about the different conditions that can affect different parts of the body, and the kinds of treatment they may require. https://www.axappphealthcare.co.uk/health-information/musculoskeletal/body-map/
Meanwhile, AXA PPP is also introducing a programme to encourage engagement with healthy living to help keep employees on top form. The Proactive Health programme, a health and wellbeing engagement and activity programme, aims to encourage an active, healthy workplace. The programme can be tailored to the needs of each business, and all at a low cost.
It incorporates a range of services, tools, training and features to make is easier to encourage staff to make their own health and wellbeing a priority.
