The Impact

At IHC we are conscious of the impact on the environment. Whilst we don’t have a big impact on the environment, being a services-based business, we still believe that every business should be responsible for their action and the environment.

From 2022, we will plant one younger tree and one older tree – and care for them afterwards for every new client at IHC and new client introductions.

We have decided to make the choice for IHC to start positively contributing to the environment and be conscious of our impact.

The statistics

Being a service-based business we use phones, laptops, servers and travel. All of which have an impact on the environment in the form of CO2 output and other side effects. Did you know that if you use your mobile phone for 1 hour a day, over a year it can add up to 1 tonne of CO2 emission. Planting 1 tree could remove 1 tonne of CO2 from our air over its lifetime.

To plant our trees, we donate to The Tree Council. We have chosen The Tree Council as they understand the complexity of planting trees, which sounds odd but is true. You cannot just plant a random tree and expect it to have the best impact possible. The Tree Council are working to create the future of forests. They are planting a variety of trees in the UK to support wildlife and the environment. This is important for our impact.
